Due to the actions of Lithuania, more than 1100 trucks have piled up at the border of Belarus

More than 1,100 trucks have piled up on the Belarus-Lithuania border due to the actions of Vilnius, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The text states that due to the unilateral closing of checkpoints on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border by Lithuania, more than "1100 Lithuanian trucks" have accumulated in the territory of Belarus.

In order to ensure the safety and protection of the vehicles concentrated on the access roads of Benyakon and Kamenni Log checkpoints, the Belarusian side decided to move them to specially equipped parking lots near the Kotlovka checkpoint.

According to the agency, due to humanitarian reasons, the drivers were given the opportunity to leave Belarus and return to their places of permanent residence until Lithuania decides to fully reopen the border.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated its readiness to provide assistance to those drivers who cannot leave Belarus for various reasons.
