Putin did not give an order to start preparations for nuclear tests. Peskov

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not give an order to start preparations for nuclear tests. we must first understand whether Russia should do this, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President.

"The president did not give an order to start the preparatory works. We must first understand whether it is necessary. This should be a very serious, reasoned and considered decision. This is what our specialists are working on now," Peskov said, according to RIA Novosti.

He also denied information about nuclear tests by Russia and China.

Russia and China are currently not conducting nuclear weapons tests, the Kremlin spokesman said.

"We know for sure that neither Russia nor China are conducting nuclear weapons tests," he said.

Peskov added that the Russian side is currently trying to understand what US President Donald Trump meant when he spoke about nuclear tests.
