Hamas handed over the remains of one more hostage to Israel, which was transported from the south of Gaza to Tel Aviv for identification through the Red Cross. TSAHAL demanded the group continue to implement the ceasefire deal and hand over the remaining remains.
There have been cases in the past when the bodies transferred by the movement did not belong to the persons captured on October 7. If the remains are identified as belonging to an Israeli prisoner, Hamas must return another 5 remains, out of a total of 28.
The Palestinian Authority has said it is working to end the process as soon as possible, but most of the bodies are in the rubble, complicating the search. Donald Trump has warned that if Hamas violates the terms of the ceasefire and does not return all remains, Israel will resume military operations.
