The United States and Hungary signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy

The United States and Hungary have signed a memorandum on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, according to which Budapest will buy $114 million worth of American nuclear fuel, the State Department announced.

"The United States and Hungary have signed a memorandum of understanding on nuclear energy. Hungary has expressed its intention to support the development of up to 10 small modular reactors at an initial cost of $20 billion," the statement said.

The department added that the contract for the supply of American nuclear fuel is valued at 114 million dollars.
