"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan went to Ayrum station yesterday, in the cold of the night, to announce the historic event. he got so excited that he found himself in an international scandal. The point is that Minister Papoyan announced that after 3 decades the cargo arrived in Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia, and part of it is still on the way.
And what is the reality? 15 wagons loaded with about 1000 tons of wheat intended for Armenia from Kazakhstan left the Balajar railway station of Azerbaijan and moved to Armenia through the territory of Georgia. This is reported by the Azerbaijani APA agency, "Armenpress" reports.
The Russian and Azerbaijani side gave information that the cargo arrived in Armenia through Azerbaijan and Georgia under the organization of Russia. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk announced earlier that Moscow and Baku have reached an agreement regarding the transit of Russian goods, and in the near future, another 132 wagons of wheat will be sent to Armenia, again through the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also announced in Kazakhstan that Baku is removing the restriction on the transit of Armenian goods.
However, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, standing in the background of train carriages, announced that this is the logical continuation of August 8, "Trump's path". Both of Papoyan's claims are factually incorrect. 1. The supply of wheat is the initiative of the Russian Federation, not the result of "Trump's path". 2. The cargo did not enter Armenia directly from Azerbaijan, but passed along the route Azerbaijan → Georgia → Armenia. In other words, Azerbaijan has not opened a border with Armenia. This is actively being written about in the Russian and Azerbaijani press, emphasizing that this is just the lifting of the transit ban."
