The death toll from Typhoon Kalmaeg in the Philippines has reached 188, the country's civil defense agency said on Friday.

Earlier it was reported that at least 140 people died.

According to the agency, which is referred to by the Inquirer newspaper, most of the victims were found in the province of Cebu. Another 135 people are considered missing, and 96 are injured.
