China's Foreign Ministry has called on the United States to reduce its nuclear arsenal

The United States should significantly reduce its nuclear arsenal and create conditions for achieving complete nuclear disarmament, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said at a briefing on Friday, answering a question from RIA Novosti.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that he discussed the prospect of denuclearization with the leaders of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, and expressed hope that something similar could happen.
"The United States, as the nation with the largest nuclear arsenal, must faithfully fulfill its special and priority obligations to achieve nuclear disarmament. We will continue to significantly and substantially reduce our nuclear arsenal to create the conditions for achieving comprehensive and complete nuclear disarmament," Mao Ning said in response to RIA Novosti's request to comment on Trump's statements.
