United Nations. The Sudan 2025 aid plan was 28% funded

The population of Sudan's Darfur and Kordofan regions is in dire straits due to increased violence and is in urgent need of assistance. This was announced by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which noted that the 2025 international humanitarian response program is currently only 28% funded.

"Additional support is urgently needed to meet the growing humanitarian needs in the Darfur and Kordofan regions," OCHA said. “This year, the Sudan Humanitarian Response Program is only 28% funded, despite these needs. To date, $1.17 billion of the required $4.16 billion has been received."

OCHA drew attention to the "dire humanitarian situation facing thousands of families" who recently fled the violence in El Fasher, North Darfur.
