Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó has expressed the country's readiness to host the Russia-US summit in Budapest, if the preparations of Moscow and Washington are successful, Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said.
"Szijjártó expressed Hungary's willingness to hold a peace summit in Budapest if the preparations between the American and Russian sides are successful," Kovacs said on X's social networks.
On October 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the initiative to hold a Russian-American summit still exists, but such negotiations must be well prepared. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov also stated that it is important for Russia to prepare the content of a possible meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, after which the leaders will be able to decide the date and place of the new contact.
