On Monday, US officials presented several countries at the UN Security Council with a draft resolution that would establish an international stabilization force in the Gaza Strip for at least two years. This was reported by Axios.
As noted in the publication, the draft plans to "give the United States and other participating countries broad powers to manage and secure the Gaza Strip until the end of 2027, with the possibility of extension."
The American official clarified that the document will be discussed in the UN Security Council in the coming days. The Washington administration wants the vote on the resolution to take place later, and the deployment of international forces to the Palestinian enclave to begin by January.
