Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes EU leaders and their allies supporting Ukraine are actually supporting the war. According to the head of the government, this further aggravates the situation in Europe, pushing it towards a large-scale military conflict.
"Whoever supports Ukraine supports the war," Orbán said on Kosuth radio's morning program, adding that EU leaders still intend to provide military and financial aid to Ukraine using European countries' budgets. "War requires money. When Brussels sends money to Ukraine, it sends our money," the Prime Minister said.
"The European leaders do not understand that they are playing with fire. Today, Europe is going to war," warned Orbán, comparing the political situation on the continent with the events preceding the First and Second World Wars.
According to him, the only positive development is that after Donald Trump was elected president, the United States adopted a peacekeeping position and supports the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. "Today the Europeans are talking about war, although we advise them not to do it," said the Prime Minister.
