Belarus urges Trump not to swing the nuclear baton

US President Donald Trump should not swing a nuclear club. The confrontation between the USA and Russia will not bring anything good to the world, Oleg Gaidukevich, the vice-chairman of the international relations committee of the lower house of the Belarusian parliament, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Belarus, told RIA Novosti.

On Thursday, Trump announced that he had ordered nuclear weapons tests to be conducted on an "equal basis" with countries believed to have such programs. On his TruthSocial social media page, Trump added that this process would begin immediately.

"Trump's statement is so militant. There is no need to wave a nuclear club. The claim that the USA has the most nuclear weapons, first of all, is not true. Second, it is obvious that it is impossible to defeat Russia militarily."

"Therefore, we must reach an agreement. Confrontation between the USA and Russia will not bring anything good to the world," Gaidukevich said.
