The President of the Republic of South Africa Kiril Ramefusa demanded that the Israeli government release the citizens of the South African Republic and other countries in the Israeli failure of Sumud. On behalf of our government and the people, I urge Israel to release the South Africans kidnapped in international waters, as well as to release other citizens who attempt humanitarian aid.
The President of the Republic of South Africa noted that the detention of the Navy's international waters contradicts international law and violates the sovereignty of each country, the flag of which was raised on the navy's dozens of ships.
"These actions also violate the decision of the International Court of Humanitarian Affairs on the unhindered supply of humanitarian aid," he said. "I expect Israel to release human rights defenders as soon as possible, because these kidnappings do not make sense in the context of ensuring peace in the Middle East."
