South Korea intends to maintain ties with Russia

The Republic of Korea will maintain ties with Russia, but will continue to criticize Moscow's cooperation with the DPRK for sensitive issues for Seoul. The statement came from South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hun in the parliament.

Cho Hun noted that Seoul intends to maintain stability in relations with Russia.

"On the one hand, we will continue to communicate with Russia on the other hand, we will continue to adhere to the military cooperation between Russia and the North, which threatens our security," Yohap news agency quoted the Minister as saying.

The South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs added that Seoul will ask "neighboring countries, including China and Russia, play a constructive role in the corruption of the Korean Peninsula.
Cho Hun noted that a new concept of the "Phased Phase of the Korean Peninsula" is being developed, which includes the freezing of the DPRK's nuclear program, reduction of arsenal and a complete nuclear weapon.
