Twenters of the United States have filed a lawsuit against US President Donald Trump's administration, trying to prevent the cancellation of the grant program for the protection of possible natural disasters, Axios portal reports.
"Unilaterally stopping the leading program of mitigation of FEMA disasters, respondents operate illegal and violated the basic principles of the authorities," the lawsuit reads.
In April, FEMA announced that it was suspending the "Construction of Sustainable Infrastructure and Communities" program, announcing such a "useless and politicized" expenditures, reminds Axios. According to the announcement, the agency returns to its main mission, "to help Americans recover from disasters."
The publication notes that most of the states of FEMA, the Ministry of Defense of the Fatherland and its director Kristy Noha are headed by the Democrats.
