Moscow is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and maintains ties with Tehran. Spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated this at a briefing, answering TASS.
"We are closely following this situation, but we also keep in touch with our partners in Tehran," Kremlin said.
He also noted that "there are some contacts between Americans and Iranians, directly and other ways."
Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13. A day later, the Islamic Republic carried out a response. The United States came to the conflict 9 days after its escalation. On the night of June 22, the American forces attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities.
