The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has elected successors in case of his death. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has submitted to the Council of Experts of the country with three spiritual servants who can take his place in case of his death, according to The New York Times.
The process of appointing a new Greek President of the Islamic Revolution may take months, but according to the sources, 86-year-old Khamenei wants to ensure a "fast, regulated transition" in the conditions of escalation of the conflict with Israel.
In addition to possible successors, Khamenei also chose several candidates for the possible death of his assistants to preserve the chain of the military command.
Ayatollah's hand is central to the entire government, judicial, legislative and executive branches, as well as the leadership of the Iranian Armed Forces.
