RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan visited Mika Sports Complex, which was joined by the Sports Management Center, where the final round of the "Schoolchildren's Basketball League" sports games under the auspices of the RA Prime Minister started. Director of the Sports Management Center Khoren Zargaryan presented the activities of the complex, infrastructure opportunities, the ongoing repair and modernization. In the Mika Sports Complex, in particular, the renovation of the gym, repairing, repairing, bathrooms, kitchens, as well as the dressing rooms.
Zhanna Andreasyan toured the sports and administrative infrastructure of the complex, discussing a number of organizational issues related to the proper conduct of the championship and security. It was noted that the sports complex is fully ready to host the "School Basketball League" sports games.
The tournament includes two age groups:
10-12 years of age (grades 5-6)
13-15 years of age (grades 7-9)
16 teams are in struggle in each age group. The winners of the group stage will reach the playoff phase, which will be held on June 19-21. The final and third place meetings will be held on June 22.
The start of the group stage is scheduled for June 17, at 11:00. In the first match, the teams of the 7th-year school No. 4 of China No. 4 and Artik No. 2 will compete with each other. Admission is free.
Khoren Zargaryan informed that the preparations for the basketball championship to be held in Yerevan are also going on with great momentum according to the schedule. The necessary amount of equipment has also been supplemented. It is planned to strengthen the lighting system of the gym in the near future, bringing it to international standards.
The meetings of the Armenian U-20 team will be held K. The Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, and the teams of other countries will be hosted at Mika Sports Complex. The Basketball Championship of the European Division of Europe will start on July 11. Yerevan will host the teams of 20 countries, which will fight for the title of champion.
At present, about 1,500 children are training at various sports, football, wrestling, karate, judo, futsal, etc., which testifies to the active public activity of the Center.
