The underground tombs of the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius Temple, were found in medieval royal treasures, which were considered missing after being hidden on the eve of World War II. Among the treasures are crowns, chains, rings, rods and accusations, which belonged to Poland and Lithuanian monarchs, including Alexander Yagellon, Elizabeth Austrian and Barbara Radzivili.
The operations began in September 2024, when researchers reiterated the domes of the Vilnius Cathedral, this time through the endoscopic camera. In December, they found treasures packaged in September 1939, CNN Style reports.
Archbishop Vilnius Gineart Grushas described the discovery as "invaluable historical value, a symbol of national identity and the testimony of the skill of decorative arts."
The items found are currently being restored and will soon be displayed for the public.
