Pope Francis sent a message on Easter, in which he was in favor of disarmament and peace, calling for reconciliation in the Holy Land, Ukraine and the South Caucasus. He also supported the Christians of Palestine and Israel.

"Peace is impossible to achieve without complete disarmament, and the desire of self-defense should not turn into an arms race," said Pope Francis.

The 88-year-old grandfather was personally present at the balcony of the temple of St. Peter's temple, wishing all believers happy Easter, TASS correspondent reported.

"Peace without disarmament is not possible. "The need to ensure the own protection of any nation cannot turn into an arms race," he said.
