The US Congressmen visited Syria on an informal visit. Associated Press:

The US Congressmen visited Syria on an informal visit, the Associated Press reports.

Earlier, Washington Post reported that US President Donald Trump's department addressed a list of eight demands on Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Al-Sheikani, one of which gives the United States the right to carry out anti-terrorism in Syria.

"Members of the Congress have paid an informal visit to Syria, as the United States is discussing the weakening of sanctions.

MP Marley Stuttzman and Florida MP M. Miles visited Jobar, Damascus, where the historic synagogue and the Christian district of Bab Tuma were located. They also met with Syrian Interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa and other government officials, "the agency said.

It is noted that they became the first American lawmakers who visited the country during the new government.

Earlier, US State Department spokesman Bruce stated that the United States has not yet planned to change the sanctions regime against Syria, but assesses the situation there to determine the future policy towards Damascus.
