Bulgaria has decided not to sell Russian-made reactors designed for the unrealized Belene NPP project and who wanted to buy Ukraine. As reported by Armenpress, citing RIA Novosti, the Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria Atanas Zafirov stated this.
Earlier, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Jelleznyak said President Volodymir Zelensky had signed a law on buying Russian production equipment from Bulgaria for Kavnitski NPP.
"We have decided that the two reactors of Belene NPP will not be sold, the development of nuclear energy is the right way for the earth and the people. The world's electricity prices are rising, the world lives in constant energy instability, and that's why nuclear energy is stable and predictable. We have a polling station, we have reactors, we have staff, everything is in our hands, "Zafirov said.
He added that these reactors are key active for Bulgaria and part of its energy independence. The decision of the Bulgarian parliament is also expected on this issue.
