By the end of 2023, Russia may become one of the top three food suppliers in physical weight in the world, Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut said at the international export forum “Made in Russia.”
Based on the results of last year, perhaps, if the general figures come out for other countries, we entered the top three suppliers in general in the world of food, specifically in tonnage,” Lut said.
At the same time, the minister added that in monetary terms, Russian agricultural exports are still only in 16th place in the world.
She clarified that food exports have increased by $18.5 billion since 2018, from $25 billion to $43.5 billion in 2023. In tonnage, exports increased from 78 million tons in 2018 to 103 million tons in 2023.
