The Bundestag will hold the first session of the new convocation

The new German parliament will hold the first session on March 25, a month and two days after the snap elections, DPA reports, citing the Bundestag Council, which is involved in the schedule.

According to the agency, this decision is taking place within the framework of the main law, which allows the founding sessions of the parliament within 30 days after the elections. Thus, March 25 is the last day when it could be done.

According to the latest changes in the Law on the maximum number of mandates, there will be only 630 deputies, before 733 deputies gathered in parliament.

As a result of the recent election, the Church Democratic and Christian-Social Association (CDU / CSU) will receive the largest number of parliamentary mandates, 208, they are followed by "Alternative for Germany" (152), Social Democrats (SPD, 120) and Greens (85).
