Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the renovated building and administrative building in the Abovyan penitentiary institution.
The event was attended by the Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan, Head of the Penitentiary Service Tsovinar Tadevosyan, the head of the institution Heghine Martirosyan, representatives of the Defender's Office, the Service and the Foundation.
In his speech, Anahit Manasyan noted that the issues related to the rights of persons deprived of liberty are in the center of its immediate attention.
"The conditions for the detention of those deprived of liberty have a key role in the context of the prevention of all forms of ill-treatment and ill-treatment. It is, the current conditions are often related to various issues that lead to violations of rights.
