A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the current situation and implementation strategy of the "Academic City" project were discussed.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan presented the works already implemented within the framework of the project: the concept of the master plan of the "Academic City" was developed, the general survey of the site, the necessary geological and geotechnical research, etc. were carried out.
It was emphasized that the development of the "Academic City" management model, the development of the strategic framework for urban development, and the evaluation of the general transport and mobility framework are planned within the framework of the agreements signed with international partners training of management staff, development of a technological cluster management model, development of a road map for the unification of universities, a road map for the unification of research institutes, support for the promotion of innovations. In the framework of the development of the strategic framework of urban development, works will be carried out in the direction of strategic communication, researches of social infrastructures, analyzes of economic trends, etc.
The work will continue towards the finalization of the "Academic City" master plan and the design of the buildings. The above-mentioned volume of work, which is related to the development of the necessary documents within the framework of our country's legislation, will be carried out by local partners are the preparation of the area, the construction of appropriate roads, landscaping works, the construction of certain areas: the railway station, the residential area, the stadium and the cultural center, etc.
It was noted that work is underway to hold an international conference within the framework of the "Academic City" project in May-June 2025.
Next, a discussion was held on the presented strategy. The scope of the discussed issues included the selection of a local partner, which in cooperation with the GMP company will implement the development of the master plan and zoning project of the "Academic City", road network and transport, engineering infrastructure and utility infrastructure, landscape the outline of the organization, etc. The issues related to the railway works were also mentioned is that there is a need to update the concept of the "Academic City" program, in the context of which the importance of the integration of the Talent Development Program was emphasized.
Within the framework of the discussed issues, the Prime Minister gave appropriate instructions to the heads of the responsible departments.
