The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took control of additional areas of the buffer zone on the border with Syria at night. Israel Katz, Minister of Defense of the Jewish State, announced this.
"At night, the Israel Defense Forces captured additional points in the buffer zone with Syria," he said. Ynet portal quotes the minister's statements.
Katz also said he ordered the IDF to "act immediately in Syria" to "establish a safe zone from heavy strategic weapons and terrorist infrastructure that could threaten Israel."
The Israeli Defense Minister added that he ordered "to prevent the resumption of arms smuggling from Iran through Syria to Lebanon at the border checkpoints", as well as "to take measures to destroy heavy strategic weapons in Syria", including "among others, ground launch".
