The League of Arab States (LAS) calls for support for the Syrian people, including the lifting of any sanctions against Syria, and promises to continue to provide support to the country, according to a statement from the organization’s general secretariat․
“The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States calls on all parties interested in achieving regional and international stability to support the Syrian people through this challenging transition period, including by lifting any sanctions,” the statement said.
The Arab League stressed that Syrians must uphold the concepts of tolerance and dialogue and put the country's interests above all else.
“The Arab League General Secretariat emphasizes that it will continue to accompany and support Syria so that it safely overcomes the current stage,” the statement said.
