Three people were detained in connection with the riots during the demonstrations in Tbilisi


The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia arrested three more people in connection with the riots near the parliament building in Tbilisi. This is stated in the press service of the department.

"As a result of the investigative measures taken, it was found that during the protests on Rustaveli Avenue, the accused committed violent acts as part of a group, showed resistance and threw various objects at the law enforcement officers," the statement said.

A criminal case was initiated against them under the article "Organizing, directing or participating in group violence" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum period of nine years.

In total, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 26 people were detained for disturbances during the demonstrations in Tbilisi. They are charged with various articles of the criminal code.
