Syrian troops withdrew from the city of Hama

The Syrian Armed Forces have redeployed their forces from the city of Hama to fortified positions outside the city to avoid clashes in residential areas in order not to endanger the lives of civilians, the Syrian Defense Ministry said on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.

"During the clashes in the city, in order to preserve the lives of the civilian population, the military units were redeployed and moved to positions outside the city," the message says.

According to the report, in recent days fierce battles have continued in several directions at the same time, a large number of terrorists and their equipment have been destroyed.

In the second half of Thursday, the fighting intensified, which led to the loss of personnel of the armed forces of the Syrian Arab Republic.

"Terrorist groups managed to penetrate into the residential districts of the city, despite the heavy losses suffered in their ranks," the message says.
