The French Foreign Ministry called on the Georgian authorities to "respect the right to hold peaceful demonstrations"

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed readiness to continue supporting the "European aspirations" of Georgian citizens and called on the country's authorities to respect the right to peaceful demonstrations. This was reported by the press service of the French MFA.

In the statement of the Interstate Agency, it is said that France is monitoring the situation in Georgia.

"We are concerned about reports of reprisals against protesters and journalists and call for the right to peaceful demonstrations to be respected.

France, together with its European partners, will continue to maintain close ties with the Georgian people and support their European aspirations, which should not be betrayed," the department said in a statement.
