French Prime Minister Michel Barnier may lose his job due to a controversial budget decision. Barnier claims that in order to reduce the country's budget deficit, it is necessary to cut spending by 40 billion euros and raise taxes by a total of 20 billion euros.
However, legislators from other parties refuse to support his measures. Center-right Barnier did not rule out that in order to adopt the budget, it may be necessary to refer to Article 49.3 of the Constitution in order to approve it without a vote of the deputies.
This could lead to a vote of no confidence, which the left-wing politicians are threatening. The ultra-right "National Union" is also ready to join them.
