This is due to the possible refusal of the United States to support Ukraine after the inauguration of Donald Trump as the President of the United States on January 20, 2025. It was noted that the talks resumed on November 11 after the visit of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, to France.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on February 26 that the topic of possible sending of ground forces of Western countries to Ukraine was raised at the meeting held in Paris with the participation of representatives of about 20 Western countries.
The participants did not reach a consensus on this issue, but such a scenario cannot be ruled out in the future. The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the appearance of a foreign military contingent in Ukraine would be fraught with extremely negative, even irreparable consequences.
