Beijing speaks out against double standards in international law

Xinhua-China opposes double standards and selective application of international law. The corresponding statement was made at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, commenting on the US reaction to the decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to arrest the Prime Minister and former head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, as well as a similar decision regarding the Russian President.

“China has always opposed the use of international law by individual countries for their own purposes, refusal to comply with it and the application of double standards. I would like to emphasize that China has always advocated for the ICC to take an objective and fair position, and exercise its functions and powers in accordance with with the law,” emphasized the official representative of the foreign policy department.
