On November 19, within the framework of the visit of German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock to Yerevan, a meeting with RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was held at the RA Foreign Ministry. This is reported by the RA MFA.
It is noted that Ararat Mirzoyan and Analena Burbok discussed the possibilities of further expansion of partnership between the two countries, the ongoing steps in that direction, based on democratic values, mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation. In the conditions of current developments, the importance of closer interaction, cooperation in modern fields was emphasized.
"Mrs. Minister, dear colleagues, I welcome you to Yerevan. I am always happy to see you to discuss issues related to the global agenda and our region, as well as our relations with Germany, the Armenia-EU partnership and the deepening of our relations. There are many tools, mechanisms and documents that we are discussing regarding RA-EU relations, and your contribution here is very important."
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Germany thoroughly discussed a wide range of issues of the RA-EU partnership agenda, referring to the achievements recorded in the recent period, current programs, as well as prospects for deepening cooperation. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the new RA-EU partnership agenda is quite ambitious, based on the experience of cooperation as well as the vision of further development.
Reference was made to cooperation on multilateral platforms.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Analena Burbok also exchanged thoughts on regional issues. In the context of ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, reference was made to the process of regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process, including the works carried out towards the finalization of the draft of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, emphasizing the importance of signing the treaty. The head of the RA foreign political department emphasized RA's constructive approach to unblocking regional communications as an important component of the peace agenda, as well as the promotion of economic interdependence with a wider geography.
