German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has stated that providing military support to Kiev should not come at the expense of investing in the future of Germany and its citizens.
The chancellor announced this during his speech in the German parliament.
"It is necessary to answer one question. should we finance the support of Ukraine at the expense of more than 12 billion euros from the German federal budget, to the detriment of the future of our country? My answer is no," the German chancellor stated. He once again noted that there cannot be a dual position and a choice between helping Kiev and Germany's well-being.
