The house where Donald Trump spent the first four years of his life, after extensive reconstruction, was sold in New York for $1.93 million, the Associated Press reported.
Until recently, the five-bedroom mansion in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens was empty, decaying due to water leaks and mold, and housed feral cats.
The Tudor-style house was built in 1940 by Trump's father, developer Fred Trump. The US president's family is no longer the owner of this real estate.
Now the seller, developer Tommy Lynn, bought the house last year for $835,000, after which he invested about $500,000 in an eight-month renovation. As a result, the house has a modern kitchen designed for professional cooking, wooden floors with a "spruce" arrangement and spa-style bathrooms.
The purchase agreement was signed in July, and the information about the sale for $1.93 million appeared on real estate websites on Friday. The name of the new owner is not disclosed.
In recent years, the house has changed owners many times. In 2017, a few months after Trump was elected president, it sold for $2.14 million, according to Zillow data. In 2019, the real estate was put up for sale for 2.9 million dollars, but it was not possible to find a buyer.
Before the current reconstruction, the house had reached a very neglected state. According to the New York Post, after the pipe burst, there were water damage and mold, and the abandoned building became a haven for feral cats.
Earlier, the house was rented for a short time through Airbnb. At that time, it was owned by Trump Birth Home LLC. The home featured full-length cardboard figures of Trump, copies of his book, The Art of Making Deals, and a People magazine cover featuring him.
Trump spent his early childhood in this house before the family moved. Later, he built a career in real estate, specifically building the Trump Tower skyscraper in Manhattan, and then got involved in politics.
