Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in India, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported. The leaders met at the summit venue, the Bharat Mandapam Convention and Exhibition Center in New Delhi.
The leaders of Russia and India last met less than two weeks ago, on August 31, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
The Kremlin stressed that Russia highly values the trusting relationship that has developed between Putin and Modi. The leaders enjoy communicating in an informal setting and have a frank exchange of views on pressing issues, noted Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
The Russian president arrived in India on Friday for a three-day working visit to attend the 18th BRICS summit.
