Armenian representatives Elina Avanesyan and Alina Charaeva overcame the first round of the WTA 250 tournament held in Hamburg and reached the 1/8 finals.

Elina Avanesyan (WTA ranking: 208th) defeated the Dutchwoman Aranka Rus (WTA 187) in two sets with a score of 6:2, 6:1. In the next round, her opponent will be Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (WTA 79).

Alina Charaeva (WTA 117) won in three sets over the Spaniard Sara Sorribes-Tormo (WTA 212) with a score of 3:6, 7:5, 6:1. In the 1/8 finals, she will compete with Austrian Signa Krauss (WTA 80).
