As many as one million people could gather in Madrid to celebrate the victory of the Spanish national team

About one million people may take to the streets of Madrid to celebrate Spain's victory in the World Cup, the autonomous community's government told RIA Novosti. Spain won the World Cup by beating Argentina 1-0 in extra time in the final.

The team's official celebration will take place in Madrid on Monday. The players, as expected, will travel through the streets of the capital in an open bus, and the main place of celebration will be the Cibeles Square. The city authorities have already prepared a plan to limit traffic in the area.

"We predict that about one million people may gather in the streets of Madrid," said the spokesperson of the regional government.
