Within the framework of the working visit to Paris, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan met with UNESCO's Deputy Director General for Cultural Affairs Nayef H. with Al-Fayez. Artur Martirosyan, the deputy minister of KGSMS, and Aram Hakobyan, permanent representative of Armenia to UNESCO, also participated in the meeting.
Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated Nayef Al-Fayez on assuming the position, wishing him effective work and expressing confidence that under his leadership, UNESCO's cultural agenda will be enriched with new initiatives, and international cooperation will expand.
In his turn, Nayef Al-Fayez congratulated Armenia on being elected a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, evaluating it as an important achievement and proof of international recognition of Armenia's cultural reputation. The parties also referred to Armenia's active involvement in the work of UNESCO's management and professional bodies, as well as the opportunities for further development of cooperation.
