Armenia can lose almost all the income from strawberry export if it loses the opportunity to export its strawberries to the Russian market. "RIA Novosti" calculated based on the data of the UN Comtrade platform.
During the first 11 months of last year, the total volume of foreign sales of Armenia amounted to 12.51 million dollars, of which 12.14 million dollars went to Russia.
According to the agency's calculations, in 2025, Yerevan supplied Moscow with approximately $13.25 million worth of strawberries, 97% of total exports of $13.65 million.
Last year, the UAE, Qatar and Kazakhstan also bought a small amount of Armenian strawberries.
As of May 30, Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service) has restricted the import of fruits and vegetables from Armenia. The agency explained that the decision is due to the growing number of violations related to the supply of these products to Russia and to ensure phytosanitary safety.
