A decision was made to arrest 2 people in the case of underage sisters in the city of Vedi, Ararat region, which received wide public response. This is reported by the Investigative Committee.
Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office reported that a criminal prosecution had been initiated against A.E., in accordance with Article 198, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 4 of the Criminal Code (committing violent acts of a sexual nature against a vulnerable minor) and DA, in accordance with Article 198, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 4 of the Criminal Code. (3 episodes).
Let's remind: on February 12, 2026, the father of the minor sisters submitted a report to the Vedi Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stating that on February 8, V. E., taking advantage of her daughter's helpless condition (suffering from the diagnosis of mental retardation), committed a lewd act.
The juvenile refused to undergo additional forensic examination.
On April 22, the sister of the minor victim, who is also a minor, reported to the Vedi Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that during April, an unknown man named Arthur approached her, convinced her to put her in a car to take her to school, but took her to a building on the city's church road and had sex with her.
According to the information received during the preliminary investigation of the initiated criminal proceedings, the minor victim needs special educational conditions and pedagogic-psychological services due to mental problems.
During the preliminary investigation, the minor victim gave conflicting, contradictory statements, in particular, in one case, she completely denied having sexual relations with any person, including Arthur, stating that that man did not try to have sexual relations with her, did not hit or even kiss her, and during the forensic examination, she stated that she has been having sexual relations with another person for about a year.
Considering the above circumstances:
-a forensic psychiatric-forensic psychological complex examination was appointed regarding the minor victim,
- persons identified by minors, family members of minors, pedagogues were questioned,
- instructions were given to the investigative body to carry out relevant operative-investigative measures.
Considering the best interest of the minor victims, the Investigative Committee urged to refrain from sharing unspecified and identifying information about minors on the Internet.
