The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the need for the rapid opening of the Strait of Hormuz during negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
"Araghchi stated that the political crisis cannot be solved by military means. Iran will resolutely defend its sovereignty and national dignity while seeking an agreement and a comprehensive, long-term solution through peaceful negotiations.
As he noted, the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz should be resolved as soon as possible," said the statement published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
