Orbán refused the parliamentary mandate of the Hungarian Parliament

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who will soon leave his post, has announced that he has decided to give up the mandate of a member of the parliament, but intends to remain in the position of leader of the "FIDES - Hungarian Civil Union" party, reports TASS.

"The mandate that I received as number one on the list of the coalition formed by "FIDES" and the Christian Democratic People's Party is actually the parliamentary mandate of "FIDES", so I have decided to give it up. At the moment, I am not needed in the parliament, but for the reorganization of the national party movement," Orbán stated in a video message broadcast on Hungarian TV channels.

He noted that the board of "FIDES" offered him to continue his work as the chairman of the party, and he intends to hold a nationwide congress in June.

"If the congress trusts me, I will be ready to fulfill that task," Orban emphasized.

Let's remind that on April 12, the ruling "FIDES" and KDPK coalition was defeated by the "Tisa" party in the parliamentary elections and joins the ranks of the opposition.
