Every person who aspires to become a state official must learn the national history and recognize the Armenian Apostolic Church with its creed and canonical setting. Father Asoghik Abegha Karapetyan, director of the Museums and Archives of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, mentioned this in a conversation with Euromedia24, referring to the points related to the anti-church movement in the pre-election program of the CP. Noting that this is the only way a public official of the Republic of Armenia can exclusively serve the highest national and state interests. According to Father Asoghik, State-Church relations cannot be reshaped or regulated by individual or group whims. It is the most important national-state issue, in which everyone should participate, all national-state bodies and forces (parties, organizations, unions, etc.). And the basis of that process, unconditionally, should be the full recognition and acceptance of the divine sovereignty and congregational-canonical structure of the Armenian Church, headed by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Any word or action contrary to all this is a reprehensible lawlessness.
