"Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan made a remarkable statement yesterday during the discussion of the 2025 budget in the parliament, saying that he is not to blame for unresolved problems in the city and delaying their solution, but the executive, which does not make adequate allocations to Yerevan's budget.
According to Avinyan, it is necessary to make it possible by law that some part of the income tax of the employees registered in the capital be allocated to Yerevan by law.
By the way, we wrote weeks ago that Avinyan made such a proposal during one of the closed sessions. Yesterday, during the budget discussion, he even got into a debate with the Minister of Finance.
When Vahe Hovhannisyan said that it is not the times of the Soviet Union, we should go and trade from the store, saying to give a cash register, because your yard will be repaired from your income, but let's not take a step to fill the general budget.
According to the minister, the most allocation is made to Yerevan anyway.
"Mr. Hovhannisyan, you talk so generously about the given subsidies... I want to talk about absolute numbers.
There is an impression that you are not saving, you are providing a large amount of aid to the communities, but it is not so," Avinyan objected."
