US President Donald Trump stated that Iran did not promise the US that it would not develop a nuclear weapon and warned that it would not allow Tehran to acquire it.
"We are conducting negotiations. They want to make a deal, but we haven't heard the magic words yet, "we will never have nuclear weapons," the US president said in his annual address to the House of Representatives and the Senate. "I would prefer to solve this issue diplomatically," he said.
The American leader stated that he "will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons", while asserting that the Islamic Republic is "the number one sponsor of terrorism in the world".
