US naval presence in the Middle East is expected to continue to grow amid Washington's military presence in the region and tensions with Iran, the Financial Times reported, citing a source.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump stated that very bad things can happen to Iran if Tehran does not agree to a deal.
"The US naval presence in the Middle East region is expected to continue to grow," the publication's article states.
Referring to the data of the US Navy, the newspaper reported that at least 12 US warships are currently stationed in the Middle East: one aircraft carrier, eight minesweepers and three coastal defense ships that have been converted into minesweepers.
