UEFA has launched a disciplinary investigation into the incident that took place during the match between "Benfica" and "Real Madrid" in the Champions League playoffs.
The European football organization intends to question all participants in the incident, including Kylian Mbappé. After the game, the French star publicly announced that Gianluca Prestiani, the midfielder of the Lisbon club, had made racist remarks against his teammate. It is noted that sanctions will be applied only if there is irrefutable evidence.
UEFA has already made an official comment on the situation in a statement provided to Sky Sports News.
"Analysis of official reports is underway. If violations are found, proceedings will be initiated, and if disciplinary sanctions are applied, relevant information will be published on the official UEFA website. We have no additional comments at this stage."
The return match between the teams will take place on February 25 in Madrid.
